Happy Almost-New-Year! I love this
week of the year, the “found” time between Christmas and New Year’s when life
slows down enough for me to sit still and take stock before I turn the last
calendar page. I reflect on the blessing of the past year and get excited for
what’s to come. I always try to take it off from work so I can savor this time.
During this week of “bonus” time, I
also have another special bonus to share! This fall, I polled my mailing list
about which romance couple they’d like to check in with over the holidays. I

Reading! And I'm starting the new tradition of writing!
Just doing my usual reading and making flower arrangements. Hoping I might get to open my shop if not I'll continue to do them at home. Ask Karen Rock about her crazy friend that makes her laugh so hard her stomach hurts.
I too take this week off. But unfortunately have been sick since Saturday night

In the past, it was a fun week with my boys, but now two are grown, so it's just the youngest and me at home while my husband works.

will be having New Year's Eve dinner with my 4 adult children, and then ringing in the New Year at home with my boyfriend!

It's life as usual. I'm retired so I don't do much other than read and some chores around the house.
I do tend to hit the Boxing Day sales - always with a list though. My daughter is on holidays, so lovely to have her home.
Working away at paperwork, mending, TV recordings, and scrapbooking.

We are retired AND enjoying our first winter in our new home in a completely new part of the state for us – in the Ozark Mountains. So this year between Christmas and New Year we will be mostly staying in since it’s turned off so cold. We enjoy playing games, watching movies and reading LOTS of books. We are a tourist town being the Folk Music Capital of the world so it’s pretty much a slow down time for the whole time while they gear up for the 2018 events which start usually in March with the spring Bluegrass Festival.
My New Year Resolution seems to stay the same each year. It is to eat healthier - work towards becoming my ideal weight (not from a chart but what makes me feel and look better), to enjoy life as a family whether it's taking trips, doing chores or playing games but to just enjoy working and playing together, and to live life - to be a participant and not a spectator. I am looking forward to 2018 as I reflect on 2017!

For me it's about winding down, not really a fan of new years, I actually enjoy celebrating Chinese New Year more.
