It’s a rainy Sunday here in NJ as I’m writing this, and I have to tell you—I don’t hate it. My fiancé and I are lounging around this morning—we cooked breakfast, cleaned a little, played some racing games on Xbox (he won)—and now I’m doing a little blogging.
And I also knit. There’s something about reading, knitting, and winter that all go together so beautifully! Many of the knits below are projects I’ve given away or am going to give away. If you’re a knitter/crocheter too, look me up on ravelry.com (I’m WriterLisaDale).
After I finish blogging here, I’m going to head over to the local craft store to pick up some yarn for a new project. Sure, there’s other, more productive things I could be doing. But the way I see it, there’s time for that later in the year, when the sun comes out again and the weather warms up.
For now I’m taking a cue from the trees and doing a little hibernating. I hope you’re enjoying the season too!
Much love,
Lisa Dale
PS—If you don’t already know, I’m giving away a ton of prizes on my blog this month. I’ve got a lot of books sent over by great romance writers, and if you want to win one, just stop in and leave a comment. It’s www.LisaDaleBlog.com. Hope to see you there!

I know what you mean knitting and reading definitly go hand and hand. I love to knit. When my hands hurt from to much knitting I give them a break with a good book.
I enjoy knitting and reading, I just don't seem to have enough time to do either lately. Going by to check out your blog. Always glad to see another knitter/crocheter.
Hi Lisa! I used to crochet a little but I've never been able to knit. I do a little beading and making jewelry for myself. But nothing is as good as a book on a cold winter day.
I , too, enjoy reading and knitting in the winter. More reading than knitting due to arthritis in my hands.
Hi Lisa, nice to see you hre too. :)
I used to crochet, not anymore.
I use to knit...well only scarves...since that was the only thing i can knit and was kinda good at.
@Rebekah, good to have to loves!
@Mason, I hear ya. Hope you like the blog!
@Mary, there's factions in my family that crochet and factions that knit. It's kinda of a fun little war!
@Estalla, my hands hurt too from knitting, though I don't have arthritis. I took a break recently though to recover.
@Dina,Ah--a familiar screen name. Hope you're having a nice day!
@van_pham, I've done mostly scarves, but have been branching out, and am about to tackle my first sweater! Here's hoping it works!
Well I do love reading, but I am helpless at knitting. I tried years ago and just don't have the knitting gene.
Love your pics!! I wish I could do that.
