Carole Mortimer: Checking In!

We are currently having a heat-wave in the UK! Not my favorite thing, I have to admit. I’m more of a snow person than a sun-worshipper, which is a little odd because my birth sign is Leo, and we’re supposed to love the sun. Guess, in my case, someone got that wrong!

2016 is proving to be a very busy year book-wise for me. So far I’ve had a book out every month, and my publishing schedule looks as if I will have a book out every month for the rest of the year too. Not that I’m complaining—I love writing romances, contemporary and Regency, all with the added excitement of lots of steam and suspense in the storyline.

Pursued by the Viscount, book 4 in the Regency Unlaced Series, was released on May 27th. I have been absolutely overwhelmed by how popular this series is, constantly in the Top100 bestselling charts. I’m so pleased, because I really enjoy writing this super sexy Regency romantic suspense series. I love doing the research for this series. The Regency period is one of my favorite times in history. Such a short period of time, 1811-1820, but so exciting too, with the war against Napoleon, his surrender and banishment to Elba in 1814, his escape, and then recapture and incarceration on St Helena. Plenty of scope there for exciting Regency heroes and heroines!

Desired by a Lord (Regency Unlaced 5) is now available for pre-order and will be released on July 22nd. Captured by a Gentleman (Regency Unlaced 6) will be available for pre-order soon, with a release date of August 31st. There will be more books in this series in 2016.

June sees the start of my new contemporary Romantic Suspense series Knight Security, with the release of Defying Asher on June 30th. This book is now available for pre-order. The introductory novella to this series, Resisting Alexandre (Knight Security 0.5) – and previously published as “Alexandre”, in the Royals & Rogues anthology with 5 other bestselling authors – will also be published June 30th. So keep an eye out for the pre-order to this novella, because it features the first explosive, and unforgettable, meeting between the hero and heroine of Defying Asher.
The Knight Security series is a spin-off of the #1 bestselling Alpha series. A chance to meet old friends and make new ones!

As always, the stories in my Regency Unlaced, Alpha, and Knight Security series, are all romances, but with more explicit language and sexual content than my other books. In other words, they’re hot!

Happy March, Everyone!

I’m going away for ten days to Majorca this month, for a much needed break with my husband and youngest son, after the rush and bustle of Christmas and the long wet winter in the UK. We actually had our first snow of winter yesterday. Just a flurry, with more expected tomorrow. I love the snow, which is strange because my star sign is Leo, and we’re supposed to love the sun not the cold. I know snow causes chaos, on the roads and airports etc, but I just love to see that carpet of white on the ground. It always makes me smile.

March is a very busy month book-wise for me, with two books being released. The first book is Savage Alpha (Alpha 8), released on March 2nd. This is the last book in the contemporary Alpha Series. But—I love it when there’s a ‘but’, don’t you? 

The second book released this month, on March 1st, is the introductory novella to Knight Security, the spin-off series to Alpha. The novella is called Alexandre (Knight Security 0.5), and it is out in an anthology, titled Royals & Rogues, with four other bestselling authors, Susan Stephens, Shelli Stevens, Heather Long, and J C Makk. We all had such a lot of fun putting this anthology together.

Interesting fact—I was contacted on Facebook yesterday by Vikkas, the model for the cover of Savage Alpha. I’m still swooning. He is so nice¸as well as being hot, hot, hot. He loved the cover of Savage Alpha, and just wanted to tell me so.  

Coming up next month I have the release of Taken by the Earl (Regency Unlaced 3) on April 2nd. Followed by Pursued by the Viscount (Regency Unlaced 4), release date May 27th. June will see the publication of the first full-length novel in the Knight Security series, Defying Asher (Knight Security 1). Asher is a secondary character in both Savage Alpha, and the novella Alexandre (Knight Security 0.5). He’s arrogant, outspoken, and really needs a kick up his bossy ass, which my heroine is only too happy to provide. I am sooo looking forward to writing Asher’s story! 

As always, the stories in my Alpha, Knight Security, and Regency Unlaced Series are all romances with added suspense and danger. But beware—they are also more explicit in their language and sexual content than my other books.

Carole Mortimer: An Exciting New Year!

Hi, and a Happy New Year to Everyone!

I have a couple of exciting things happening this month. A $0.99 book deal, for 5 days only. The release of Claimed by the Marquis, 2^nd book in my bestselling Regency Unlaced Series, on January 29th. Plus the pre-order of the 3^rd book in the Regency Series, Taken by the Earl, will also be available at the end January.

The book deal first!

Renegade Alpha (Alpha 5) will be available at $0.99 from January 23^rd to January 27^th, on Amazon only. This is the 5^th book in the Amazon #1 Bestselling Alpha series, and it also happens to be one of my favorite stories in the series. I just loved writing Lijah and Callie’s story!

Lee asked me what urged me to want to write the Alpha series, and the answer is I had several storylines of hot (very!) romantic suspense buzzing around in my head, and the 8 books in the Alpha series are the result. I’ve had such fun writing them that I’m doing a spin-off series, called Knight Security, featuring the four brothers of Lily, the heroine in Savage Alpha (Alpha 8). There’s also an intro novella, Alexandre (Knight Security 0.5), coming out in a boxed set with four other great authors in February 2016, titled Rogues and Royals.

The 8^th book and last book in the Alpha series, Savage Alpha, will be released March 2nd, and is now available for pre-order.

First book in the spin-off to the Alpha series, Asher (Knight Security 1), will be published in June 2016, preorder available March 2016.

Sorry to give you so much information regarding future releases, but 2016 looks like being just as exciting as 2015, with a book being published almost every month throughout the year.

Catching up with Carole Mortimer

Can you believe its Autumn already? Although a glance out of the window convinces me it is; it’s currently pouring with rain, which means I’ll be lighting a cosy fire later tonight. Nothing I like more than cuddling up on the sofa with my husband in front of a roaring fire. Usually to watch re-runs of NSIC starring Mark Harmon, but that’s another story!

October 4^th saw the publication of Warrior Alpha the 6^th book in my bestselling ALPHA series.

The hero of this sixth book is Nikolai Volkov. He has appeared in two of the previous books in the Alpha series, so fans of the series will already know him. Nikolai left Russia twenty years ago, barely surviving on the street of London for several months he then falls foul of the Russian overlord of London’s criminal underworld, Dimitri Markovic. Instead of punishing him, as Nikolai expected, Markovic takes the young man into his own family. Twenty years later Nikolai is head of security for the powerful Markovic family, and totally loyal to Dimitri’s son Gregori, the new head of this powerful Russian family.

Hey, it isn’t easy drooling over all those Regency heroes and then having to decide which one is right for which story. The pre-order for the first story in the series, The Duke’s Mistress, is now available, with a release date of November 4^th. The covers of this series are spectacular—thank you, Jo.

 I am so excited about the launch of this new Regency romantic suspense series. It’s to be published alternate months with my Alpha series through 2016.

Indie publishing has given me the opportunity to spread my wings, to write more suspenseful stories, and steamier heroes and heroines, than my previous books. Not only that but I get to design the covers, choose my editor and proof-reader, plus the publication date. I go around the house saying ‘I have the POWER’ in my best superhero voice, at which time one of my sons usually pipes up with ‘what about dinner?’. No sense of occasion, that the problem with these young men!

July is such an exciting month for me!

It’s just a couple more days till I fly to New York to attend the Romance Writers of America Conference—and I still have to write an acceptance speech. The RWA are very kindly presenting me with the Nora Roberts’ Lifetime Achievement Award on July 25^th, at the awards ceremony on the Saturday evening of the conference. This is such an honor for me, the highlight of my 37 years as an author.

July 24^th sees the release of Renegade Alpha, the 5^th book in my Top100 bestselling ALPHA series, which I introduced in November 2014, with the release of the novella Christmas Alpha. I have been overwhelmed by readers’ response to this romantic suspense series, and all five books so far released in the series, are currently in Kindle Top 100 Bestseller lists. I absolutely love writing this series, and Lijah Smith, the hero of Renegade Alpha, is a particular favorite of mine. He’s really hot!

The pre-order for Warrior Alpha, the 6^th book in the series, to be released October 4^th, will also be available from Monday July 20^th.

Even more exciting, my whole family are joining me in New York on July 25^th, and arrive in time to be able to attend the RWA awards ceremony. Then we’re all going to have a wonderful week’s holiday together in New York, one of my favorite cities in the world. We’re also going to celebrate my birthday while we’re there. It isn’t till August 5^th, but who can resist celebrating in New York, so wonderful they named it twice? I certainly can’t!
