I happily agree with what you are saying and wonder also, if those people have read a romance novel from the 80's or 90's.Christine Younghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04009319154924162270noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36709846.post-53403882210603412552011-11-07T06:42:01.740-08:002011-11-07T06:42:01.740-08:00UGH! The worst offender is our children's librarian...which just annoys me to no end. She tells all the time that you can't judge a book by its cover - very true. And then she downs romance novels by saying "bodice ripper"

Excellent post!

http://The Brunette Librarianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01274190099219658110noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36709846.post-46341826158389911302011-11-07T05:20:33.979-08:002011-11-07T05:20:33.979-08:00Amen! I started reading romance about 1959 and I still have some favorite books from that era. Georgette Heyer who died in 1974 wrote timeless regency romances.

I love to read old contemporary romances as well as they allow me to see how social habits have changed over the years.
