Do I Hear One Dollar? by Anna Randol

In my new release, Sins of a Virgin, my heroine is in a bit of a quandary. She’s just spent the last decade working as a spy for the British Foreign Office, but after the war with Napoleon ends, she’s dismissed with little more than a pat on the head. Rather than spend the rest of her life in genteel poverty, Madeline decides to hold an auction.

Now, many unique things are auctioned in this world. Today alone I found these treasures on eBay (Yes, on the day I wrote this blog…):

·         A man will support the political candidate of the winning bidder’s choice and get tattoo of that candidate’s name.

·         A real gargoyle skull.
·         Glasses that will let you see people’s auras.
·         A magical demon pendant that will make anyone fall in love with you.
·         A potato shaped like a sea turtle (A bargain at $2.99.)

Thankfully the auction Madeline decides to hold isn’t so much strange as it is…personal. Wicked, even. She strolls into White’s, strips down to her unmentionables, and offers up the one thing no one believes the famed courtesan still possesses…her virginity.

After all, while a potato turtle might be interesting, being scandalous is far more fun.

So readers, what’s the one item in your house you wish you could auction away? One lucky commenter will receive a copy of Sins of a Virgin. Void where prohibited.

Bio: Anna Randol writes sultry, adventurous Regency romances for Avon. RT Book Reviews gave her new novel, Sins of a Virgin, four and a half stars and called it, “Smart, sassy, sexy, original and tinged with mystery…” When she’s not plotting wild storylines, Anna’s usually eating dark chocolate, having wild dance parties with her kids in the living room, or remodeling her house one ill-planned project at a time.

I wish I could auction away all my old clothes that don't fit anymore since I lost weight. I need to get rid of them. :D

Even if I really love so much, and they are my "adopted" children, I would really like to auction or even give away some of my books. I also want to share to other people the joy of reading books (specially in our country where some people gets discouraged after seeing the number of pages of a certain book.)

SINS OF A VIRGIN looks wonderful.

It's amazing what you can find for sale on the Internet. I'd like to auction off the car & be done with vehicles forever. I prefer to walk & we just throw money at the car, but we do still NEED it.

A hideous flowerpot. Bright yellow with brown and green circles on it. Inhereted the monster and sentimental value forbids me to get rid of it without reason. However should I get a good price for it I might find it in my heart to let it go at last. Now it sits inside a cabinet and I cringe everytime I open the door...

Your book sounds wonderful & I would love to read it.

I have this scented wax bowl that my daughter's MIL gave me. It might be a pleasant smell, but it is overpowering. Gotta get that thing up on eBay.

Your book sounds like a whole lot of fun to read! Thanks for the giveaway.

We definitely need to auction off a few of my grandchildren's toys, they have way too many. I live with my daughter's family and believe me, they need to add an addition to the house to store all the toys for 3 children. Actually my daughter does donate the ones that are still nice to local children.

Hum, actually I'd like to action the entire house away! We'd love to move to South Carolina but since our state has the 2nd highest rate of unemployment and the only thing selling are foreclosures we're stuck here.

One little problem is it still has the original gold formica vinyl on the counters that we thought were the perfect color when we built it! Seems that if someone IS going to buy that's not what their looking for.

I don't have to worry about auctioning off anything else in the house because whenever I go to find something my husband has managed to have taken "fill in the blank" to the dump anyway! "No dear I can't make you a can't repair your jeans this week-end - you threw out the sewing machine because I hadn't used it in the last month".

What a lovely, noble thought!

A variety of kitchenware that I have been gifted over the years. These are usable items that are just taking up storage. Totally fine for what they are but not anything I am likely ever to need.

I don't have to worry about this. I have organized a street yard sale every year since 1986, whereby several houses on our street hold sales at their own homes, often times for charity. So every time I find something that I no longer need/want, I plop it in the huge "yard sale" pile in our crawl space for the following May yard sale. (I used to hold onto things people gave me that I didn't like/weren't suitable, but I am now at an age where I can chuck them.)

All the exercise equipment in our home and
garage which we no longer use. It's just
taking up space and providing a home for
dust bunnies!

I'd like to auction away the 50+ years of National Geographic Magazines in my attic - otherwise they'll just sit there until I get a chance to go thru them - I can't deal with throwing them away or even putting them in the recycling without at least a brief review.

I'm a pack rat so nothing would be auctioned from my house unless my DH took it upon himself to do so, then I would probably never know he did it because I never look at the things that are stored when I was in the "I just can't do away with it" mode. My house doesn't look like a hoarder's house but I have plenty of totes in the attic and basement,LOL!

Oh my gosh, Sins of a Virgin has all the elements I love in a story and a lovely cover to boot.

Ref: What would I auction?

Does dust count?

Auctioning one's virginity is a very unique premise - scandalous for the times, for sure. I love it. I am going straight to Amazon to add Sins of a Virgin to my Wish List.
