I Love Bollywood -- Susanna Carr

I enjoy watching romantic comedies and dramatic love stories, but lately I've been disappointed in what Hollywood has to offer. Fortunately I live near a movie theater that only plays Bollywood movies. The Hindi film industry knows how to make big, bold and beautiful stories about love!

Most of these films have over-the-top storylines populated with outrageously beautiful actors and actresses. With the gorgeous costumes, mesmerizing songs and lavish dance numbers, I know that I'm going to entertained for the next two hours (or more!) I love the romantic comedies, but I have also found the stories set in historical India fascinating.

Granted, some of the movies aren't that great (and there have been quite a few that were weak remakes of Hollywood movies!) I've been watching Bollywood for almost a decade and I'm nowhere near being an expert. Although, after watching my fair shares of blockbusters and box-office bombs, I have my favorite movies, couples and actors. And my friends and family know that if there is a movie starring Shahrukh Khan, I will probably be standing in line to see that movie.

Do you watch Bollywood movies? If you haven't, check out my list at IMDb.com where I suggest the top 5 Shahrukh Khan romantic movies. If you are looking for a good romantic movie, give these a try!

I love bollywood. I love movies that have singing and dancing. They are definitely the best. I also like that they are very clean. My kids could watch them and I don't have to really worry.

Rebekah, that is so true! It was only recently that I saw a movie where the couple kissed.

I've seen bits and pieces of films
made in India or styled after the
Bollywood-type movies. I've also
seen TV competitions who include
Indian dancers that just blow me away with their productions. That
is the extent of my experience in
Bollywood films.

The only Bollywood type of film I have seen was Slum dog Millionaire a couple of years ago.
