Count Your Blessings--Michelle Monkou

Happy New Year, 2010!

The new year, beginning of the next decade, came in with a blast of cold temperatures and lots of snow for many parts of the U.S. But why shouldn't it come in with fan fare. Life shouldn't be blah and boring, right?

Despite disappointments, sacrfices, even loss, there are so many things about life that call upon our gratitude and appreciation. Family, friends, career and my faith keep me going.

I love my family. They make me laugh. We enjoy each other's company. We are very close and like to do things together like traveling, going to the movies, playing Beatles Rock Band, and even exercising.

I love my friends. They accept me with all my imperfections. We really really laugh a lot together. Our getaway trips are fun and memorable. Each person has a special place in my heart.

I love my career. Yeah, sometimes, I may whine. But talent shouldn't be abused or taken for granted. I learn to appreciate the good, with the not so good. I treasure the opportunities that have been afforded me and the many readers that I meet along the way.

Life is good. I plan to enjoy every minute. I will continue to laugh. I will continue to love.

What are some blessings you'd like to share. A random winner will receive my new February release - Trail of Kisses. All commenters will receive a bookmark, pen, and a one page calendar of Kimani Romances 2010 Hotties. Please have an email contact in your profile information.

Take care,

My husband and I have been very sick with a chest cold for a week now. He broke a rib from coughing so hard. I am just blessed we have a warm home to recuperate in. So many people are homeless in the world. I feel very blessed at all God has provided us with.

I like your pictures, too. I'm feeling like the woman on the third picture right now. Just finished the first week in a new job and despite all my worries and fears, I am so happy and thankful that I got this chance. This might become something special.

I loved the pictures, nice pictures are always great to look at. I'm blessed that I found my husband when I did. We were both going through a terrible time in our lives and being together helped both of us make life better for each other.

Thanks for the reminder to enjoy all the wonderful people and things in our lives, Michelle! Like most commenters, I'm so appreciative of my family, especially my husband, who's a men among men! As I type, he's out grocery shopping :) I'm also thankful for my home and thanks to all of you terrific authors, my enormous TBR. Books are a fabulous thing!

Best wishes for an incredible 2010!

My father had a double bypass a week before Christmas and I'm thankful he's still here and that my whole family was together.

I'm thankful for the continuing good health of my preemie granddaughter. And I'm also thankful that my stepdad is back home for a while from the nursing home. Hopefully he will stay home for a while. Also, am thankful that my youngest is having her third baby in mid June.

I am thankful that my MIL continues to know her six children and their wives (now the grandchildren would be a different story). She was diagnosed with Alzheimer's earlier this year, so we know time is slipping away from us/her. Still ... we treasure every moment. seytype [at] hotmail [dot] com
