Unlaced is in stores!

I’m so excited! I have really enjoyed working on the Unlaced anthology with my fellow authors Jaci Burton, Joey Hill, and Denise Rossetti. I was so lucky to be paired with such talented women. And the anthology (in case you haven’t figured it out despite the fact that I’ve been talking about it for months!) has the common thread of corsets. It’s going so well, in fact, that our editor has given us a second shot at it, and we’re going to be doing Unlaced Too! Okay, I made up the title. I’m not sure what they’ll really call it.

I’m not used to being given a contract without having a story idea. Mostly, I come up with the story and the characters, then I sell that. So the only guideline being that the story had to involve a corset stumped me. I had butterflies in my stomach worrying about it. Until my husband put his thinking cap on! He’s an amateur photographer, and he was the one who came up with the idea of my hero Dirk, an amateur photographer taking boudoir pictures of a woman wearing, you guessed it, a corset! Not that my husband takes boudoir pictures, of course, not even of me! That would be scary. Now I’ve got a new story to think up for the second anthology. Maybe I should turn him loose on that, too. I could use a bit of genius right about now! Honey, where are you, I need help! Oh, maybe writers aren’t supposed to admit they get story ideas from other people. But even if you start with the very same idea, no two people write alike. Each writer will give a story their own twist. That’s why it’s so fun to read what the other girls have done with their corset.

So what fantasy would you create about a corset? Don’t worry, I won’t borrow the story, well, not unless you tell me I can. Actually I do have a story starting to brew even as I write this. For those of you who post, I’ll enter you into a drawing for an autographed copy of my book Somebody’s Lover. Please leave your email address so I know how to contact you if you win.

Be sure to stop by my Jasmine Blog, too, this week. The authors of Unlaced are doing a cross blog, telling you all sorts of fun details about ourselves, and we’re all offering prizes, too. Hope to see you there.

Thanks for stopping by, Sarabelle and Crystal! Also appreciate that you did the blog tour with the four of us, too.

Whew, I just got back from a radio interview about the book and my book signings. I thought it was going to be a minute, but it was over 10 minutes, and she gave out the signing info 3 times!

So glad you like the posts and excerpts, Sarabelle!

What about a corset that is handed down in families it would have to be a really good one of course could have magical powers could be fun.

Ooh, yes, magical powers in the corset! That's good, Helen. Actually, Denise's story in the anthology is that! But I do like the idea of the corset being handed down through generations of women.

Thanks, Gina and Estella!

Congrats on your new release. I think the corset should automaticly give you the perfect figure even it you are to heavy or to slim. It just makes you the perfect size when you slip it on.

Hi Jasmine,

Okay, corsets...I am thinking, how about a story involving a beautiful lady in Venice, that poses for a painting wearing a gold corset and a flowing gold, flounced skirt, with white roses cascading down the side of her long softly curled hair. The painting is a side view of her as she looks over her shoulder. There is a mysterious, angelic quality about her. Everyone who sees the painting goes away with a feeling of peace and happiness, and their burdens are lifted.

Then our hero of the story is a man who happens to see the painting. The painting has a tremendous emotional impact on him. He decides he must find the woman that posed for the painting at all costs!

Woohoo Jasmine! Congratulations on the release of your book! I bet you are on cloud nine!

Thanks for the email, Sarabelle, makes it easier on me.

I like that, Virginia, we all get the perfect figure when we put it on. That shouldn't be fantasy, but reality for all the agony of wearing one of those things!

Ooh, Michele, I love that idea! You have very similar thinking to my husband. He had an idea about finding a picture in an old junk store. But yours is very sexy!

Thanks for stopping by, everyone, I'm off to randomly choose the winner of Somebody's Lover. Back in just a few!

And the winner is, drumroll....

Sarabelle!

Congratulations, Sarabelle. I'll be emailing you.

And thanks so much to all of you for commenting on the blog and giving me great corset ideas!
