Movie Cops And Free Books

This week, I received my promotional author copies of my latest Blaze, "Unleashed", which will be in book stores in November.

Here is the blurb:

Unrepentant

Purse designer Jessie Beane has some bad habits when it
comes to men. So she’s going to boost her sexual karma—
by indulging in an extra-naughty, one-night stand?

Unabashed

Detective Rick Marshall is the perfect candidate—a hot
cop with a creative and insatiable libido. Unfortunately,
Jessie’s poor excuse of an ex uses the opportunity to rob
Jessie’s apartment and steal Rick’s car...with key evidence
in the trunk!

And Unleashed!

Jessie and Rick don’t have time to waste.... They need
to find that car now. And if spending time together gives
them the chance to unleash their voracious appetite for
each other, then they’ll be certain to enjoy every
salacious minute....

The story was a lot of fun to write, and I hope people find it as enjoyable to read. The inspiration for my hero was Clint Eastwood's Harry Callahan.

I've always loved the dark, brooding, and somewhat cynical, Dirty Harry. I think it's inherently female to want to take an emotionally walled-up man like that and try to reach in and find that softer side. There's something mysterious about the man who doesn't wear his heart on his sleeve. As if the sexy fire in those eyes would end up being twice as explosive once...Unleashed. hehe

When I think about movie cops, a few dark, sexy, serious ones come to mind. Keanu Reeves in Speed, Mel Gibson in Lethal weapon. Colin Farrell, Denzel Washington, Matt Damon. It seems all the sexiest Hollywood actors have played cops at one time in their career.

So let me ask a question because I love talking about them an am anxious to start giving away free copies of my book. Who is your favorite movie cop and why? I'll pick out at least one person who comments to receive a free copy of my new Blaze, "Unleashed". I'll post the winner here in the comments Sunday evening.

My faves are Inspector Harry Callahan of Dirty Harry. Dirty Harry has an admirable distaste for police protocol and that's why he throws out the rulebook and slugs into the thug, asking through gritted teeth, "Do you feel lucky, punk?"

I have to say Police Academy, it was hilarious and probably one of the only one I have re-watched.

Steven Seigal when he played cops in his movies.

My favorite is Axel Foley from Beverly Hills Cop. He was a good cop but he was reckless and rash.

Loved Harry Callahan in Dirty Harry because he didn't always follow the 'rules'.

I have to think about this one.

Being married to a cop I tend to not watch those shows as he has the crime solved before the 2nd commercial break.

I am going to have to say the guys from Criminal Minds, and Booth and Bones on Bones. As far as t.v goes.

For Movies it would be Police Academy, SWAT, and Leathal Weapon.

Ahh.. movie cop? Don't really watch movies. I do love Bones and Criminal Intent. Do those count? I love watching the interplay of them solving the crimes along with the hints of romance in Bones. Criminal Intent ... I love watching the team work together to solve the crime so it isn't ONE person that has me watching the show.

I will have to say Mel Gibson in the Lethal Weapon movie. The main reason I loved this movie is because Mel Gibson is easy on the eyes and the movie had a lot of humor in it.

Al Pacino as Serpico. GREAT acting! He tried to stand up for what was right!!

I also liked Tommy Lee Jones in the Fugitive & Double Jeopardy with Ashley Judd.

Showed the agressiveness and determination needed to figure out both crimes.

For the big screen, I'd have to say Bruce Willis in the Die Hard movies. For television series, I'd have to go with the quirky ones, Monk and Psych.

I loved Dennis Quaid in The Big Easy!

I guess I can't qualify for a prize because I don't watch movies. But if TV shows count I always liked Columbo because he appeared to be the "typical dumb cop" but in fact was really very smart.

Thanks everyone for chiming in. I've been enjoying hearing about everyone's favorite celebrity cops.

With so many responses, I've got two books to give out and have pulled Virginia and Estella from the list of people responding.

Congrats, ladies!

If you'll send your snail mail address to lori@loriborrill.com I'll get your free copies in the mail.

And thanks again, everyone!
