Marketing on the Web

Click to Visit My Website

Good morning, everyone. My name is Kimberly Killion and I write sexy Medieval romance for Kensington Publishing. It has been a wild month for me since my debut release, HER ONE DESIRE, came out on July 1. There are so many things I wish I had known before I became published and I often joke with fellow authors that there should be a book. So what I would like to do is share a few (well...maybe more) of the things I've learned along the way.

BEFORE YOU ARE PUBBED:
Get a website. You want to make a name for yourself? Not computer savvy? Then hire someone to make one for you. Get all the basics out of the way on your website: Home; Bio; Books; Links; Contact. Be sure to put something on your site that will draw a crowd. A special links page, contest page, articles. The more you get done now, the less you will have to do when you get published, and trust me, you will be glad you did.

You must first set up a regular account with amazon and then you can join AmazonConnect where you can input information like a bio and even set up a feed to your blog.

This isn't a tenth of the things I've done to prepare for being published. If you are interested in learning more, I have a 'writer's page' on my website that offers lots more.

Click to Visit My WebsiteThanks for having me on today and I hope you all get a chance to check out my website to get a peek of my debut book, HER ONE DESIRE, from Zebra books.

BLURB:
England 1483--Astride a stolen horse, encircled by the shackled arms of Broderick Maxwell, a Scottish spy escaping certain death in the Tower of London, Lizbeth Ives rides to the north, hidden by the merciful darkness. By stealth and by cunning, the daughter of the Lord High Executioner has undone her father's cruel work, compelled to save the innocent man with her. There is no turning back—they are bound as one in his iron chains. Consumed by mortal fear, driven by passion, they disappear into the night…

A single raven follows them. Is it an omen? Or only the first of those who would capture them? They must ride on. If captured, they will face death together. But if they reach Scotland, he will claim her for his own…forever.

And what a good post. Thanks for including those links because I would have no clue how to even start a website.

Congratulations on the release of
your debut book, Her One Desire!!
You've included an awful lot of good
information in your blog! I'm a
reader, not even considering becoming
an author, but who knows, I might
want to set up a website someday!
Thanks for visiting today!!!

Hi Kimberly,

Congratulations on your debut novel. It sounds wonderfully mysterious and sensual. Really like the cover too.

Hi ladies! Thanks for popping in and for your kinds words about the book. Good luck to any of you who might be considering starting a website, but let's face it...everyone has a website. Where we used to say what is your number, or maybe you were 'cool' enough to say, "What's your digits?"...nowadays, the kiddies say, "What's you web addy?"
Who knew! :)

That's a good thing, Nathalie since I gave my right arm to promo this book. LOL I'm glad to see some of the advertising and promo work I'm doing is getting me some recognition.
