Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone!
I hope it’s a lovely day that you get to share with someone special! My youngest has a basketball game tonight (weather permitting), so no romantic dinner here, but we went out last week for an early celebration.
Just in time for Valentine’s Day, a new Holly Jacobs’ romance....
LAUGH LINESby Holly Jacobs
ISBN 0-8034-9814-4
Avalon Books, 2/07
Welcome back to Erie, PA! In LAUGH LINES, the disc jockeys from WLVH radio station are MCing at a local comedy club, Chuckles. And they prove that WLVH, where love is more than just a song, still has the magic touch...it follows them into the club and...Dani Sinclair has moved home to Erie to be closer to her family and to tackle a new job as CEO at a Hamlin Texts. That first day, while trying to escape a killer-bug (running from a plain bug sounds stupid, but if you say killer-bug it makes sense) she literally bumps into Luke Miller, the owner of Chuckles, a comedy club. At Chuckles, Dani finds she’s got a talent for stand-up...and she’s standing a lot, except when she falls for Luke! Unfortunately their road to love is peppered with a few rotten tomatoes and prat falls, but like all true comics (and romantics) they keep trying until they get it right!
You can read an EXCERPT here.
This is an Avalon release, and the publisher’s main market is libraries. The books are hardback, library bound, so they’re pricey. If you ask your library to order it, you’re helping me out, Avalon out...and you get to read it! Win-win-win! LOL (Well, I hope you getting to read it is a win !)
**********************************************************************
Also, last summer’s HERE WITH ME, was reprinted in a hardback, large print version. Again, very pricey, so if you’re calling your library to request Laugh Lines, maybe you could request this one as well? Here’s the info:HERE WITH METhorndike (Hardback/large print reprint), 1/17/07 ISBN:0786292253 ************************************************************************
CONTESTThere’s still time to enter the new contest. I’m giving away a copy of last year’s NIGHT CALLS, an Avalon release. It had an Old English Mastiff in it, based on ours, who passed away last January.

Wow, after a very mild December, winter found Erie, PA in January...and keeps right on finding us. We’ve got snow and it’s freezing cold! I’m so looking forward to spring. But for now, I’ve got a fire going, I’m sitting on my couch, with Ethel Merrman, our new dog, and working...life’s not so bad, despite the snow!As always, thanks for your continued support. You all helped make December’s Dashing Through the Mall, a great seller! I so appreciate it!(PS for everyone in Erie, check out today’s paper! If you’re not in Erie...there’s an article about me on the front page! You can check it out at newpaper if you’d like!)
Happy Valentine’s!

Hi,

Congrats on all the books!
And Hope you have fun at the game tonight.

I am not sure how many inches (lots) of snow we got yesterday, but it was sure one of the worst of this winter.

Still, Happy Valentines day to you too!

=) Liz

Liz and Jennifer,

Happy Valentine's to both of you!

Liz, I hope you dig out. I've been out with the snowblower twice. Thought I'd need to go a third time, but my son took over!

Hello Holly!

I live in the north in Indiana and we had over a foot of snow. I got out my trusty shovel and did part of the driveway before I pooped out. We used to have a snowblower...

Happy Valentines Day! Have a piece of fudge or chocolate on me! Ha!

I can't wait to read your books!
Have a great Friday! :-D

Michele,

Oh, I hear you. Most of the time I shovel instead of snowblow because I count it at my exercise for the day and don't have to get on the much hated stationary bike. But there's so much now, that I've used the snowblower, then made myself bike...it was easier that way! LOL Good luck with your snow!

And I got a bag of dark chocolate for Valentine's...I'll have a piece at lunch, if you do something equally fun!

Hi Holly,
Congratulations on the new book.

I'll be sure and ask the librarian about getting a copy of it if they don't already have one.
They are always asking the regulars at the lbrary for suggestions for new books to purchase.

I see from one of your post you are a lover of Dark chocolate, too. I made out with 3 packages of Dark chocolate for Valentine's Day.:)

After seeing all the talk about snow and stuff I'm glad I live in the Deep South. We are cold down here right now, but none of the white stuff.

HollyJacobs said...

Oh, Gigi, my-sister-in-dark-chocolate, what I wouldn't give to come visit you in the deep south today! It's freezing here. Twelve degrees! Brr.

And thanks for checking with your library! I love working with Avalon, but I hate having readers spend that much money on a book. I have no guilt whatsoever, though, in having libraries order them! (I'm a mom, so I do guilt good! LOL)

And Happy Valentine's right back at you (and a bit later LOL), CatsLady!

Busy morning. Daughter already dropped off at her science fair thing, and now must shop, finish laundry, then go watch her awards show...ah, my glam life! LOL

Congratulations on the new books. I'll make sure and ask our librarian also.

I was lucky enough to receive dark chocolate also - ghiradelli. ummm

And speaking of snow - we had beautiful spring like weather yesterday and then this morning I woke up to 3 inches of snow. Yuck!

HollyJacobs said...

Christy,

Thanks so much for checking with your library!! And yay on the dark chocolate!

Your spring weather arrived this morning in Erie. It's forty and drippy. Life is good!!

I got to spend Valentine's Day with my true love, my two and half years old nephew. Who wants to marry me and whenever he's upset with me he just threatened me that he won't.

HollyJacobs said...

Oh, Mona, he sounds like the kind of guy every woman should have! LOL Got to confess, I adore little kids. Mine have outgrown the small, cuddly stage, but I have three young nieces who allow me to indulge my cuddleness! Spoiling them to pieces is my glee!!

Holly

Mona said...

Hey Holly, I know what you mean. Before my niece and nephew came I thought kids are creatures we should be ware of. Now if these kids name anything I'm the fastest one to get it. That's a confession just between you and me. Lucky for me these kids still in the cuddle stage.

HollyJacobs said...

Mona,

Enjoy the cuddly stage...before you know it their huge teens who'd rather face a water-torture than cuddle!! LOL But there are advantages when they get that old. I'll confess, love that mine are old enough to have real conversations.

Oh, and yes, aunts should spoil the kids and enjoy their every whim! Good for you!

That is exactly what I try to do with my 5 nephews and nieces...LOL...the oldest boy is 7 and the youngest girl will be 1 in June. The other three are all 3 years old...a set of identical twin boys and an adorable little girl. I love being an aunt to my brother's and sister's children. They are so much fun to be around...help me forget my problems when we play with cars or Barbies...nothing beats a hug from a little one.

HollyJacobs said...

Jennifer,

Wow, you've got quite the crew! Sounds delightful...and isn't it great to have a reason to play Barbies again? I loved my Barbies when I was younger, and love that my nieces give me an excuse to haul them out. I saved all the Fisher Price stuff, so we frequently get to set up the castle and the rest. It's nice to get to indulge yourself with favorite toys...and favorite kids!

Holly

Mona said...

Hey Jennifer, you've got that one absolutely right. These kids also do the same to me. It's hard to be sad around them. The great cure ever existed.
Well..Holly, you seem to know all the tricks about using the kids as an excuse to play with toys. It's not just me who do that, but their mother too, that's my sister. I have only one niece three and half years old and a nephew that's one year younger.
But were working on it. My brother is planning his wedding soon so we have a possibility of coming close to Jennifer's number.

HollyJacobs said...

Mona,

Hey, nice that there's a potential for more "playmates"! LOL My youngest plays basketball, and one of the little ones, a niece of another player, comes to a lot of the games. She's two and my new best bud! Of course, last game, her love resulted in a number of hair tugs, but hey, every love comes at some cost! LOL
