Did somebody say Christmas shopping?

It was Kate Walker was it not? She of the fantabulous Christmas prize pack? Just out there mentioning Christmas shopping like it was a good thing. * whimper whimper* Less than a month to go, and I am in the process of blithely ignoring it.

I bought a couple of faaaabulous gifts early on, ones that I know the receivers will adore, and thus I convinced myself I was on some kind of roll. I have only now realised that two gifts does not constitute a roll.

A start. It constitutes a start. But where does it end? I have a crazy mother who still fills the room under the Christmas tree to exploding point while my in-laws see Christmas as a chance for a huge lunch but don't do much in the way of gifts. So do we buy gifts in accordance with each of the different familys' traditions? Then there is the whole where do we have breakfast, and where do we have lunch, and where do we sleep dilemma that becomes a part and parcel of each holiday once you get married...

Okay, stopping for breath... One deep breath. Two. And you know what? It's okay. It's all good.

The buzz is in the air. Musak in shopping malls has changed. Everywhere you look there is the hint of tinsel. I have clothes laid out on my bed in preparation for a Christmas party tonight.

This next month is quite simply full of joy. I'll be far too busy, I'll eat too much chocolate, drink too much champagne, spend too much money, get not enough sleep and enjoy each and every second of it!

The fact that I have a book due in six days, five Pink Heart Society posts this month, as well as all the parties and chocolate and champagne is beside the point ;).

Big deep breaths...

Hi Ally,

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I ate to much!

Your book, "A New Mother for his Daughter" looks great! I will have to add it to my Christmas wish list!

I have started my Christmas shopping also. I have some presents bought for my husband, sister-in-law, a friend, and my mom. I still have to get some more presents though. I love giving presents. This is my favorite time of the year. I go all out wrapping, accessorizing, special notes, pretty tags, on my presents as well putting a lot of thought into buying my presents. I don't rush out and buy the first thing I see. The only thing I haven't done yet is put my tree and decorate inside my house. I decorated the outside already though.

Many blessed wishes for a special holiday!

Hi Ally,

Oops! I am sorry I spelled your book title wrong. It should be "A Mother for his Daughter".

Sorry about that!

HI Ally,

Hope you had a good Thansgiving too!

For a change I've already finished my shopping, course this year I kinda cheated and bought 99% online. That way I only had to pick up a couple of things which I did a week or so ago.

Have a very merry Christmas.

Oooh, Michelle, I hope you enjoy the book if you buiy it/get it as a pressie! It was such a joy to write. My fave of mine though I say that quietly so the other's don't get jealous ;).

I loooove giving presents too, that's my fave bit. I tend to hurry past the ones I get to see people open the ones I'm giving!!!

Tammy! You've finished, well that's just rubbing it in ;). I had an epiphany today and found pressies for three people in one shop! Phew!

Anyhoo, must go. Hubby has an ice cream for me...

Ally, I totally empathize with thinking that two presents is being 'on a roll' and suddenly discovering that the holiday has been sneaking up on me while I've been feeling in control!

In control? Ha. But I'm going shopping today -- and thank heavens for online shopping to help out. And we're off to get the Christmas tree. We should have done it while the weather was warm. It's freezing here today (which I don't expect you to understand, having Christmas, as you do, in mid-summer!).

Anyway, have a great Christmas! Enjoy the parties, the pressies and the people!

Thanks Anne!

Had lunch today with the other Melbourne based romance authors and we all did Secret Santa which was a hoot!

Also ate lovely lunch until we could eat no more, and felt very festive.

More please!

Ally, our family is rather like your mum - a seething pile of presents that cover the floor. Great stuff! Mind you, our family is also like your in-laws - we eat much more than we should. Anyway, whatever you do, have a wonderful Christmas!
